Davco Electrical Wins Excellence in Construction Award!

With over 600 people in attendance on Friday night, October 24, 2008 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Davco Electrical Contractors in conjunction with Balfour Beatty/Centex Construction accepted the Associated Building and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) Award for the 2008 Excellence in Construction Award for the Rybovich Marina located in West Palm Beach.

The award winning project Rybovich Marina Phase I $15-30 Million - New Marine Technology Building is the first phase of a larger expansion project, which will include expanded dockage for boats and superyachts up to 250 feet; a two-story restaurant with retail space; two luxury condominium buildings and 22 ground floor residential loft units.

The Marine Technology Building is located adjacent to North Flagler Drive in the Northwood section of West Palm Beach.  The 40,000-sq.-ft building is home to Rybovich Marina's state of the art boat repair facility.  This is the only facility of its type in the area capable of performing repairs, both in and out of the water, on yachts ranging from 90 to 210 ft. in length.

The two-story structure is supported on spread footing foundations and slab on grade construction with thickened edges acting as grade beams.  The structural shell of the building is a pre-engineered Butler Building utilizing Butler's proprietary Kortek wall panel system with an integral colored synthetic stucco finish.
